Plastic Shopping Bag Poll & Pledge

Plastic bags, What fee level will motivate consumers to bring their own bag?

15 cents/bag

25 cents/bag

35 cents/bag

50 cents/bag

buck a bag – sounds catchy! I might as well buy another reusable spare.

No Fee. Public Education.

You Vote – Blog, your answer please.

With re-usable bags conveniently available & affordably priced, we consumers are to blame for this plastic bag mess! We need to step up to the plate. I pledge to always remember my reusable bags or I will put my stuff back into my cart without a bag & into my car. This may prompt me to remember next time.

Please join me! If you see me loading my car and give me a thumbs up
I borrowed this poll from CAW.

Warmest Regards,
DD Middens

Love the idea to charge for plastic bags. 25 cents would probably be enough to discourage some people, but its not going to stop them. It would just lead to more complaining. More public awareness to what a mess plastic bags cost would probably be a better things as well as a 25 cent surcharge.

"Disposable" plastic bottles need an overhaul. We need to find a way to shift dependence of these so called disposable water bottles. Once again a higher surcharge on these will not do anything in my opinion.
